Public DNS Servers
If your ISP's provided DNS servers are causing problems, try one of these freely accessible public servers. Be aware however that they may go down if too many people make use of them so only use them for as long as you need to. Also be careful of using ANY public DNS server - a malicious server could lie to you about the address of important things such as Windows Update or PayPal in order to steal your passwords and such.

OpenDNS is a multihomed, worldwide DNS system with some nice features like typo correction and anti-phishing. If you've having problems with your ISP's DNS servers, try OpenDNS first. See
